El WhatsApp es una aplicación con sus grandes ventajas comunicativas, tec-nológicas y económicas pero también con sus defectos (no permite llamadas usando la tarifa de datos, por ejemplo no usa cifrado, con lo que los mensajes pue-den ser interceptados), lo que está derivando en la rápida aparición de vías alter-nativas y con nuevas prestaciones (Skype para móvil, Line, Nimbuzz, Palringo, Viber, Tango, Spotbros, Telegram, etc.), que no tardarán en dejar obsoleto este breve estudio sobre un nuevo discurso electrónico. Es un sistema que comparte muchas de las peculiaridades de otras técnicas de comunicación electrónicas (las más cer-canas, el Messenger y el SMS, como se estudia en este artículo) pero que aporta al conjunto otros elementos novedosos (el código iconográfico emoji, por ejem-plo). RESUMEN El sistema de mensajería WhatsApp es una muestra más de lenguaje virtual, instantáneo, dentro de la categoría de lo hablado escrito (Oesterreicher, 1996), pensado para teléfonos móviles inteligentes. In this way, the concept of transformative education, still little explored in Brazil, expands, proving that it is possible to make a public school of excellence. The replication of the Model in the education networks of Maranhão and other Brazilian states is encouraged.
The Institutional Model is identified by the school community as a determinant for the educational indicators and results achieved at the institute. Also, the perception of the school community about the Model’s contributions to the institution’s success was diagnosed through questionnaires. IEMA’s institutional development reports and official website were reviewed to survey all the institute’s achievements from its founding to the present year. In this sense, this study sought to demonstrate the importance of this model as a tool for transforming education, based on the achievements obtained and the perception of the school community. Its institutional model stimulates a critically oriented pedagogical action, changing conventional teaching-learning practices.
